The Hope Direct Mount chainring has special teeth with narrow and wide shape in the change, which prevent jumping off the chains reliably. In conjunction with a SRAM Type2 or Shimano Shadow + rear derailleur, which have a greatly increased bias of the cage, the chain is reliably held in position even without chain guide.
