In Greek mythology, the word Kolossos stands for a statue that is many times larger than the original. If you take a look at Kogel’s oversized rear derailleur cage, the name seems very appropriate.
In addition to reduced friction, the focus during development was on perfect shifting precision and system rigidity. The cage fits XTR and XT 12-speed derailleurs. Despite its enormous size and the approx. twice as high rigidity compared to the original, the system only weighs around 11g more. The noble part is limited to 20 pieces – so get hold of it quickly!

Bigger IS Better
Oversized derailleur wheels are currently the method of choice to save even the last bit of unnecessary friction. The rollers cause less deflection and the associated less movement within the chain links and you turn much more slowly. These two factors ensure less friction within your drive and more efficient power transmission.

Colossal performance
Kogel’s goal was a cage that, despite its enormous dimensions, is at least as stiff and stable as the one originally installed by the manufacturer. The shifting performance is therefore perfect in every situation and the chain is held securely where it belongs.

IMPORTANT:
When travelling, please remember to dismantle the complete rear derailleur with an Allen key, as very few bicycle transport bags offer enough space for such large rear derailleur cages.
